La Cachuera is an Argentine company devoted to the fractioning and packaging of agricultural food with more than seventy years of experience.
The company was created by Juan Szychowski, a Polish immigrant, who along with his family settled down at the Colonia de Apostoles by the 1900.

At the yerba mate fields of Amanda Group located on the premises La Negrita and Santa María, the ecological balance is a constant concern. Therefore, the use of agrochemicals is almost inexistent and if used, they are closely controlled. Organic fertilizers are often used. On the spaces between the lines of yerba mate crops, several types of pastures and oil seeds which will be then incorporated to the soil as green fertilizers, are sown. The pest control on the yerba mate is carried out with insecticides of low toxicity and only in the event of a significant economic damage, it is fumigated exclusively over the infested plants, preventing in such way the effect over the whole lot.
In places which are not suitable for yerba mate plantation, eucalyptus and pine trees are planted instead, as well as some autochthonous tree species such as cañafístula, lapacho and cedar.
Universidad Nacional de Misiones (UNAM), has carried out some surveys about the microfauna of Grupo Amanda’s yerba plantations, finding out a remarkable balance in relation to its composition. At the establishment called La Negrita, there are two reserves where different kinds of animal species live together, such as capybaras, red deers and stags. In the waterways of both reserves, several fish species were introduced, such as pacus, dorados, breams and carps.
